Last Thursday was Full Moon Day, Asalha Puja, with a Dhamma talk reflecting on The Buddha's Most Important Teaching. On Sunday Ajahn Abhinando led the monastic community and 23 lay visitors into this year's Summer Retreat Week. This is a time for slowing down, for looking more closely and hopefully getting to see some of those beguiling patterns that we tend to get caught in. So far participants are displaying an impressive commitment to the discipline i.e. observing silence strictly. Ajahn Abhinando is displaying his characteristic enthusiasm. Most days the sand receives careful, creative raking. For those who might be interested, 'Chanting at Aruna Ratanagiri' is now available from this site. The fact that it is listed under TALKS is just one of those things....
