Slowing Down

Picture: Tree planting around the Lakeside Buddha

The New Moon for this month falls today, Sunday 17th December; the next Full Moon will be on Monday 1st January 2018. As is fitting for the time of year we are gradually slowing down. Thankfully we haven't had to deal with the heavy snow falls that some others have, but we have had our share of the cold. In the last few days, however, temperatures appear to be warming again so hopefully work on the building project will begin once more. They still aim for completion before Christmas. Preparations for publishing Luang Por Munindo's new book, Alert To The Needs Of The Journey, have been completed, thanks to the diligence of Tan Gambhiro. E-pub versions should be available within a week and a printed version early in the new year. If you want a copy keep an eye on the forestsangha.org website. Work down by the lake last Saturday was productive, even if freezing. We got a lot of new tree planting completed around the lakeside Buddha. As usual for this time of year our guest accommodation is booking up fast. Thirteen guests are already booked to be staying on Christmas Day. And, also as usual, on New Year's Eve anyone is welcome to stay without booking (so long as you are comfortable on the floor of the Meditation Room). Our website has details about the traditional gatherings planned for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day
