Verdant

Picture: An Aruna Ratanagiri Monastery conservatory

The Full Moon for this month falls today, Saturday 31st March; the next New Moon will be on Saturday 14th April. Growth in the monastery conservatory is impressively verdant even if outside conditions remain rather wintry. Our Winter Retreat for 2018 has now ended and we wish to express sincere gratitude for all the generous support that made this rewarding time possible. Technically this is spring but it does seems we will have to wait a while before the weather warms up. We are happy that we don’t have to wait any longer for Tan Ratthapalo’s visa; after that initial rejection a visa was granted upon appeal. And we are happy that 3 of the four anagarikas – Charlie, Dan and Justin – have all requested Samanera ordination. That should take place just before the Rains Retreat in July. Closer to hand, we are still looking for a Kitchen Manager to replace Anagarika Justin. There is an H.B.M.Trust meeting planned for Saturday 7th April. Luang Por Munindo and Ajahn Punnyo plan to be away at Amaravati Monastery for an Elders’ Council Meeting on 17th -18th April. The S.E. Asian New Year event (Songkran) will be observed on Sunday 15th April. Ajahn Chandapalo is due to visit with us few days from April 24th. We have a Lake Work Day booked for Saturday 28th April. And our annual Vesak celebrations are scheduled for Sunday 27th May. Looking forward to seeing you. .
