Today, Saturday 14th, is the New Moon day for the month of October 2023.
The next Uposatha Day will be the Full Moon, which falls on Sunday, 29th October, 2023.
Current residents at the monastery are: Luang Por Munindo, Ajahn Punnyo, Ajahn Kevali, Tan Mahesako, Tan Samacitto, Tan Sucinno, Samanera Nibbuto, Samanera Ariyacitto, Samanera Attannyu and Anagarika Craig.
Anagarika Beat has moved on and the community wishes him well in his endeavors.
Since the last HILLTOP we were happy to have hosted Ajahn Karuniko from Cittaviveka Monastery. We look forward to having Ajahn Abhinando visit from 31st October to 13th November, as well as Tan Thee and Tan Sudhammo from the 31st October to 16th of November. Also for the first time Ajahn Nyanadassano will visit Harnham for an extended period from the 3rd of November onwards. The project of rebuilding the island on our lake has been finished and is already appreciated by the local birdlife. Anumodana for all the support that this project has received.
On the evening of Sunday, 8th of October, a Dhamma talk titled, The Process of Purification , was given by Ajahn Punnyo. It discussed how to navigate renunciation and the resulting increase in intensity.
LOOKIN AHEAD:
- The next lake work day is scheduled for the 21st October.
- Luang Por Munindo is still on private retreat until 25th October.
- Most of the bhikkhus will end their rains-retreat on the 29th October, finishing it with the Pavarana Day on the next Full Moon.
- We will be hosting the Elders Council Meeting from the 2nd until the 3rd November, just before our Kathina on the 5th, followed by Ajahn Abhinandos retreat from the 8th to the 12th November.
- The usual first 'Sunday of the month' meditation class will not take place at Kusala House due to our Kathina on that very day.
- The next New Moon will be on the 12th of November.
