Please Close The Gate
May we ask that all visitors to the monastery adhere strictly to practice of closing the farm gates if you find them closed when you approach them. When there are no cows or sheep in the field the farmer generally leaves the gates open intentionally. However , leaving gates open when there is stock in the fields is likely to lead to considerable inconvenience and could possibly cause an accident if the animals were to get out onto the road.
