Pensive Mood

Picture: Harnham Hill

The Full Moon day for this month falls today, Saturday 22nd December 2018; the next Full Moon will be Sunday 20th January 2019. The early winter weather brings with it a quietness conducive with pensive mood (though hopefully not vacant). The quietude and sense of slowing down is welcome after the activity of the year that is now drawing to a close. As usual we plan to mark the ending of this year and the beginning of the next with our New Year's Eve ritual of Forgiveness and Aspiration. Details of that event and activities on New Year's Day 1st January can be found on our website. For those who might be wondering, from about 5th January until the end of March the monastic sangha will be on our annual retreat. A group of generous volunteers have committed to being here to support the monastery during these three months and day visitors are welcome as usual. The Sunday evening pujas will continue as usual with Luang Por Munindo offering a talk each first Sunday of the month. And of course anyone wishing to make offerings at the midday meal is very welcome and if you have questions don't hesitate to email our Kitchen Manager, Anagarika Jason. May we take this opportunity to wish you a rewarding 2019.
