Spring Activities

Picture: Ajahn Kevali

The New Moon for this month falls today, Thursday 25th May; the next Full Moon will be on Friday 9th June. Our calendar has been full for the past 2 weeks with lots of guests coming and going. This theme looks to continue right through until entering the Rains Retreat (vassa) in early July (9th July). Not that we mind having so many wonderful friends. The day after Ajahn Jayanto departed Ajahn Kevali arrived. He is the current Abbot of Wat Pah Nanachat in Thailand. Last Sunday Ajahn Kevali left with Luang Por Munindo and Ajahn Abhinando to attend the triennial sangha gathering of disciples of Ajahn Chah, this year being held at Amaravati. Last Saturday was an opportunity for many members of our extended community of friends and supporters to say farewell Ajahn Abhinando. Although Ajahn Abhinando expects to be here again in July it will only be for a couple of days. Next Saturday 27th May, after the Amaravati gathering, Luang Por Munindo will return with Luang Por Tiradhammo; also Ajahn Sawaeng will return with them. Luang Por Tiradhammo will be leading a retreat for the lay community and has also accepted an invitation to visit the groups in Edinburgh (Thursday 1st June) and Glasgow (Friday 2nd June). As mentioned in our last news/blog, we are looking forward to hosting several other senior sangha members over the next few weeks.
